A whole server, copied every night

Nightly images and hourly file versions, with restores we actually test.

Term
Month to month
Price, indicative
From $89 per server per month, 1 TB included

A file backup gets your documents back. An image backup gets the whole server back: the operating system, the apps, the settings and the permissions. Server Backup takes both, every night, and proves it with a restore.

From order to first restore

  1. Day 1

    Map the servers

We list each server, what runs on it, and how long the business can wait without it.

  2. Days 2 to 4

    Install and schedule

An agent goes on each server or host. Images run at 11 p.m., file versions hourly.

  3. Days 5 to 9

    First full copy

The first image goes to the primary region, then a locked copy to the second.

  4. Day 10

    First proven restore

We boot one server from its backup in an isolated space and send you the timing.

  5. Every night

    Watch every job

A person reads every failed job and fixes it the same business day.

What you receive

Who it is for
Offices with 1 to 10 servers or a NAS
Format
Remote setup, agent on each server
  • A nightly image of each server and hourly file versions
  • 30 daily, 12 monthly and 7 yearly versions kept by default
  • An immutable copy in a second US region, locked for 30 days
  • A written recovery map with a restore order for every server
  • A one-page monthly report of copies, failures and fixes
  • The quarterly Restore Drill, free with 3 or more servers

Is this the right plan?

Right for you if

  • You run a file server, an accounting server or a line-of-business app on site
  • You have a NAS or a Hyper-V or VMware host with guests on it
  • Nobody has restored a whole server from your current backup
  • You want to hold your own encryption key

Look elsewhere if

  • Everything you use already lives in Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace
  • You need a server running again within minutes, not hours

Example: an accounting server fails in March

A 22-person tax office runs its practice software on one Windows server. In March the server’s storage controller fails at 4 p.m. on a Tuesday. We restore the 11 p.m. image to a replacement machine overnight and replay the hourly file versions up to 3 p.m. Staff are working again at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, missing one hour of edits, which they re-key from paper notes.

Server Backup questions, answered

What is the difference between an image backup and a file backup?

A file backup copies documents and folders. An image backup copies the whole disk: the operating system, apps, settings and permissions. With an image you can rebuild a failed server in one step instead of reinstalling everything. Server Backup takes a nightly image and hourly file versions, so you get both.

Which servers and systems do you support?

Physical Windows Server and Linux machines, Hyper-V and VMware guests, and NAS shares over SMB or NFS. Databases such as SQL Server are captured in a consistent state. If you run something unusual, we test a restore during the free backup check before you sign anything.

What happens when the 1 TB of storage runs out?

Extra storage costs $15 per TB per month, billed on what you actually use after deduplication and compression. We tell you in the monthly report when a server is within 20% of its allowance, so the bill never changes without warning.

Can we hold our own encryption key?

Yes. On Server Backup you can hold the key yourself, so nobody at Ezbre can read your data. The trade-off is real: if you lose the key, we cannot restore your data. We help you store it in two safe places and test it during every drill.

How long does a full server restore take?

It depends on size and hardware. A typical 500 GB server restores to new hardware overnight. If you cannot wait that long, the Standby Recovery plan starts the server as a cloud virtual machine, with a target of 4 hours, while the hardware is replaced.
