Shared files that stay in step

Managed sync for your team, with a separate backup underneath.

Three music stands in a row with identical sheet music, a page turning on all three at the same moment.

Sync keeps everyone on the same version of a file. It also carries every deletion and every encrypted file to every laptop. We run sync with a separate nightly backup underneath.

A deletion syncs to everyone

Someone tidies a shared folder and deletes the wrong subfolder. Sync removes it from every laptop by lunch. Consumer version history runs out, and nobody notices the gap until a client asks for the file.

What changes for your shared folders

  • Deletions you can undo

A folder deleted on one laptop and synced away comes back from the nightly backup underneath.

  • 180 days of versions

Every saved change to a shared file is kept for 180 days, including the one before an overwrite.

  • Leavers lose access

When someone leaves, access ends on your request and their work stays in the shared folders.

  • Permissions written down

Who can open, edit or share each folder is set by team and listed in your folder map.

Every sync plan includes

  • A shared folder map

Each shared folder listed with its owner, who can edit it, and who can share it outside.

  • A backup underneath

A nightly copy of the whole sync store, kept apart from sync so a deletion cannot reach it.

  • Both edits kept

When two people save one file before it syncs, both copies are kept side by side.

  • A locked second copy

The backup is encrypted, with a locked copy in a second US region at least 500 miles away.

  • Failures followed up

A person reads every failed sync or backup job and follows up the same business day.

  • One page a month

Storage used, versions kept, failed jobs and what we fixed, in one monthly report.

Example: a cleanup that synced everywhere

A 22-person property management office shares leases and inspection photos through a consumer sync account. In week 1 we map 40 shared folders and their owners, then move them into Team Sync over a weekend. On day 10 we restore one folder from the backup underneath to prove it. In May an assistant frees up laptop space by deleting the leases folder, and the deletion syncs to every machine. A request to support@ezbre.com at 9:20 a.m. has all 3,100 files back by 10:05 a.m.

File sync questions, answered

Is file sync the same as backup?

No. Sync keeps one live set of files identical on every device, so a deletion or an encrypted file spreads everywhere. A backup is a separate copy kept over time. Team Sync gives you both: shared folders with 180 days of versions, and a nightly backup of the sync store kept apart from it.

We already use OneDrive or Google Drive. Do we need Team Sync?

Often not. If your team already shares files in OneDrive, SharePoint or Google shared drives, keep them there and add the Microsoft 365 Backup or Google Workspace Backup plan, which copies those files 3 times a day. Team Sync suits teams on consumer sync, an old mapped drive, or no shared storage at all.

What happens when two people edit the same file?

Sync keeps both. If two people save the same file before their laptops catch up, the second save is kept beside the first as a conflict copy, so nothing is overwritten. Both versions also stay in the 180-day history, and the nightly backup holds the file as it stood the night before.

How does a move off consumer sync work?

Sync Migration is a fixed fee from $900 for up to 25 users and 1 TB. We map your files, folders, sharing and links, copy everything in the days before, and cut over on a weekend. Your old account stays read-only for 30 days, so a missed link can still be found.

What happens to a departed employee’s files?

They stay with the business. Shared folders belong to your company, not to the person, so files remain after an account is closed. On your written request we remove the person’s access the same business day and move their personal synced folder to a manager you name.

Does Team Sync work for large design files?

Yes, with one rule: only one person edits a given CAD or BIM file at a time, because sync cannot merge two drawings. Large files take a while on first upload, then sync as they change. For big project archives that nobody edits, Server Backup or an Immutable Offsite Copy is usually the cheaper home.
