Every matter file, copied and proven
Documents, email and the conflicts database, restore-tested every quarter.

A firm’s work lives in three places: the document system, email and the matter folders. We copy all three, log every access to the copies, and prove each quarter that they restore.
What a law firm cannot lose
Email is the record
Advice often exists only in a mailbox. A departed lawyer’s mail stays restorable while the backup is kept.
Database and files together
A document system pairs a database with a file store. Copied apart, the profiles point at missing files.
Conflicts checks stall intake
If the conflicts database is down, new matters wait. We rank it near the top of the restore order.
Closed matters kept years
Your firm decides how long closed matters are kept. We set the yearly backup versions to match.
Plans a firm usually needs
Microsoft 365 Backup
Mail, OneDrive and Teams copied 3 times a day, including mailboxes of lawyers who have left.
Server Backup
Images the document server nightly, database and file store together, with your own key if you want it.
Recovery Runbook
A written restore order, so conflicts and calendars come back before the closed-matter archive.
Immutable Offsite Copy
A locked copy that nobody, including us, can change or delete for 30 days.
From signed order to drill
- Days 1 to 3
Map every matter system
Document system, email, conflicts, billing and calendars: each gets a recovery point and recovery time you agree.
- Day 10
Copies live, one proven
Nightly images, hourly versions and mail copies are running. We restore one closed matter folder and time it.
- Day 90
First full drill
We restore documents, one mailbox and the document server in isolation. Anything that fails is fixed and re-tested that quarter.
What law firms ask before signing
Who at Ezbre can see our client files?
Only our US recovery engineers, through logged sign-ins that need two-factor authentication. Each one passes a background check and works under a written confidentiality agreement. On Server Backup and Immutable Offsite Copy you can hold the encryption key yourself, so nobody at Ezbre can read the copies at all.
Does your backup meet our professional obligations?
That is a question for your firm’s counsel, not for us, and we do not give ethics advice. What we give them is a clear written account: where copies live, how they are encrypted, who can reach them, how long they are kept, and the result of every restore drill. We also complete client security questionnaires.
Can you restore one deleted email from two years ago?
Yes, if it falls inside your retention. Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace copies are kept for 1 year by default, extendable to 7 years. Our target for a single mailbox item is 1 business hour from your request to support@ezbre.com, and it goes back into the original mailbox.
What happens to a departing lawyer’s mailbox?
It stays in the backup. On Microsoft 365 Backup, departed staff accounts are covered at no extra cost for as long as the backup is kept, so you can free the license without losing the mail. When a matter needs that correspondence later, we restore it to whichever account you name.
