Example: 140 shared links, moved intact
A 19-person property management company keeps leases on a mapped drive and owner reports in a consumer sync account, with 140 links shared to owners. Week 1 maps both into one folder tree; week 2 copies 600 GB. The count check finds a folder of scanned leases skipped for an overlong file path, which we fix before Saturday. On Monday each owner gets a new link.
Sync Migration questions, answered
What does the $900 fixed fee cover?
It covers a full migration for up to 25 users and 1 TB of files: the folder map, the copy, the checks, the weekend cutover and 30 days of the old platform kept read-only. Larger moves are quoted in writing before work starts, and the price does not change once you have agreed it.
Will our shared links keep working?
The old addresses cannot carry over, because they point at the old platform. We list every shared link before the move, recreate each one in Team Sync with the same access, and give you a table of old and new addresses, so you can send clients and partners the new ones in a single email.
Do we have to stop working during the migration?
No. Files copy in the background for about a week while everyone works as normal. The old platform turns read-only on Friday evening, the last changes move over the weekend, and staff open the new folders on Monday morning. Nobody loses a working day to the move.
Can you move files from a mapped drive on an office server?
Yes. A mapped drive moves the same way: we map the shares and their permissions, copy them into Team Sync and keep the server share read-only for 30 days. If the server also runs software, it keeps running, and the Server Backup plan can protect it from then on.
What happens to the old platform afterwards?
It stays read-only for 30 days, so anyone can check a file against the original. After that we help you export anything you want to keep and close the account. We never delete it ourselves, because the account is yours, and closing it is your decision.
