Any provider can say your data is safe. A method lets you check. Each phase below ends with something written that you keep, so you can hold us to it.

What happens, and when

A 25-person office reaches its first proven restore on day 10.

  1. Week 1

    Map what matters

We list every system, then agree how much work each can lose and how long it can wait.

  2. Week 1 to 2

    Copy and lock

Agents go on each device, servers get nightly images, cloud apps connect. One encrypted copy is locked in a second US region.

  3. Every quarter

    Prove by restoring

We restore files, one mailbox and one full system to an isolated space, time it, and send the result within 3 business days.

  4. On the day

    Restore from the runbook

A named engineer follows your written runbook and emails you an update every hour until the system is back.

Recovery point and recovery time

Your recovery point is how much work you could lose; with hourly versions, about an hour. Your recovery time is how long you can wait to work again.

We agree both for each system in week 1, because a payroll server and an old archive share rarely need the same answer. The Recovery Runbook plan turns them into a written restore order.

Questions about the method

Is a quarterly test part of every plan?

Yes. Every plan includes a quarterly spot restore: an engineer restores a sample of files from each backup set, checks they open, and logs the time in your monthly report. The full Restore Drill adds a mailbox and a whole system. It is from $240 per quarter, and free with 3 or more servers on Server Backup.

How long does the Map phase take?

About a week for a typical 25-person office. We hold one or two remote sessions with you or your IT provider, list every system, folder and cloud app, and agree a recovery point and recovery time for each. You receive a written recovery map, and every later phase is checked against it.

What happens when a drill fails?

We write it down, fix the cause and test again in the same quarter. Finding a failure is the reason to drill: it turns up the missing driver, the expired password or the folder nobody was copying while nothing is broken. Your written result lists what was restored, how long it took and what failed.

Who follows the runbook on the day?

A named engineer in the US, working from your written runbook. Send the request to support@ezbre.com. Out of hours, clients on Server Backup or Standby Recovery put URGENT in the subject line and get an answer within 2 hours, every day of the year. You then get an update every hour until the system is back.
