We run the backups, you run IT

Co-managed backup and restore drills, with one report both teams read.

Two climbers on a rock face seen from behind and below, the second belaying the first.

Backup is the job that slips when tickets pile up. We take that one job: copies, failed-job follow-up, quarterly drills and the restore line. Your team keeps the network, devices and users.

Where backup slips for IT teams

  • Alerts nobody reads

Failed-job emails pile up behind tickets. We read every failure and fix it the same business day.

  • Drills with no time

A full restore test takes hours nobody books. We run one each quarter and send the timings in writing.

  • Blurry lines of ownership

When a restore is needed, nobody should ask who owns it. A written split names who does what.

  • Restores after hours

Server Backup and Standby Recovery clients can email “URGENT” any day of the year; we answer within 2 hours.

Handover in three steps

  1. Week 1

    Agree the split

We map systems with your team and write down who owns backups, restores, endpoints and escalation.

  2. Day 10

    Copies live, one proven

Agents are on, jobs are watched, and one test restore is timed. Both teams get the result.

  3. Each quarter

    Drill together

We restore files, a mailbox and one server in isolation. Your engineer can watch, and both teams get the write-up.

Questions from IT teams and providers

Will you take over our client relationship?

No. We do backup and recovery only, with no break-fix, help desk or network work, so we are not competing for the rest of the contract. The client stays yours. We agree in writing who they email for what, and we copy your team on every restore and every drill result.

What does each side do?

We run the backup agents, schedules, retention, monitoring, failed-job follow-up, quarterly drills and restores. Your team keeps devices, network, accounts, security tools and user support. The split is written into the recovery map during week 1, and any change to it is agreed in writing by both sides.

What does the shared monthly report contain?

One page per client: what was copied, which jobs failed and how each was fixed, storage used against the allowance, and the date of the next drill. Your team and the business owner get the same page, so nobody has to translate it, and the account owner reads it before it goes out.

Can you work alongside the backup we already run?

Yes. Keep your local backup or NAS as the fast copy, and the Immutable Offsite Copy plan adds a locked copy in a second US region, at least 500 miles away and locked for 30 days by default. During the free backup check we test one restore from what you run today.

Who answers an urgent restore at night?

For clients on Server Backup or Standby Recovery, an email to support@ezbre.com with “URGENT” in the subject is answered within 2 hours, every day of the year. A named engineer follows the written runbook and sends your team an update every hour until the system is back.
