Your server, running in the cloud
A failed server back as a cloud machine, with a 4-hour target.
- Term
- Month to month, with Server Backup
- Price, indicative
- From $149 per server per month, plus Server Backup
A server rebuild waits on hardware, sometimes for days. Standby Recovery starts the latest backup image as a cloud virtual machine, so staff connect and keep working while the replacement arrives.
From setup to failback
- Days 1 to 5
Build the standby
We prepare a cloud network for each covered server and boot a test copy to prove it starts.
- Each quarter
Test the boot
We boot each standby server in isolation and time it against the 4-hour target.
- On the day
Start the standby
You email support@ezbre.com. A named engineer boots the server in the cloud, with a 4-hour target.
- Same day
Connect your staff
Staff reach the cloud server over a secure tunnel, and you get an update every hour.
- Within 30 days
Fail back
When new hardware is ready, we move the changes back on an agreed evening and shut the cloud copy down.
What you receive
- Who it is for
- Offices that cannot wait days for a server rebuild
- Format
- Cloud virtual machine, secure tunnel for staff
- A cloud virtual machine for each covered server, started with a 4-hour target
- A secure tunnel so staff reach it from the office or from home
- Up to 30 days running in the cloud for each incident
- A written failback plan for moving back onto new hardware
- An hourly update from a named engineer until you are back
- After-hours requests answered within 2 hours, every day of the year
Is this the right plan?
Right for you if
- One server runs billing, scheduling or orders, and a day without it is expensive
- Replacement hardware would take days to arrive
- Staff can already work from home and connect from anywhere
- You run Server Backup today, or plan to
Look elsewhere if
- You have no on-site server; everything runs in Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace
- You need failover in minutes; this plan targets 4 hours
- Your server depends on a USB license key or attached equipment on site
Example: two disks fail on Monday
A 27-person title company closes loans from one server running its escrow software. During setup we agree a 4-hour target and test-boot the server on day 5. On a Monday at 9:15 a.m., two disks in its array fail together. The office manager emails support@ezbre.com. By 12:40 p.m. closers are working on the cloud copy over the tunnel. New disks arrive Thursday, and we fail back Friday evening.
Standby Recovery questions, answered
What is server failover to the cloud?
It means starting a copy of your failed server as a virtual machine in the cloud, from its latest backup, so staff can keep working. They connect to it over a secure tunnel. When the original hardware is repaired or replaced, the work moves back to it, which is called failback.
How fast will the standby server be running?
Our target is 4 hours from your request to a cloud server your staff can reach. It is a target, not a guarantee, and we measure it in a test boot each quarter. After hours, email support@ezbre.com with “URGENT” in the subject; we answer within 2 hours, every day of the year.
Why does Standby Recovery require Server Backup?
Because the standby machine boots from the nightly image and hourly file versions that Server Backup takes. Without those copies there is nothing to start. Standby Recovery adds the cloud network, the tunnel, the quarterly test boots, and the engineer who runs the failover and the failback.
How long can we run on the standby server?
Up to 30 days per incident. If a replacement will take longer, we talk with you well before day 30 about the options. The failback plan included with every standby server moves your work back onto the new hardware on an agreed evening or weekend, so staff are not interrupted mid-day.
Does Standby Recovery help after ransomware?
It can, if a clean image exists. We start the standby from the last version taken before the encryption began, on a cloud network kept separate from your office. Your insurer and counsel decide when it is safe to reconnect anything else, and we follow their timing.
