Every laptop, copied every hour
Hourly copies wherever the laptop goes, with 90 days of versions.
- Term
- Month to month
- Price, indicative
- From $12 per device per month
The day’s work lives on laptops, often nowhere else. Workstation Backup copies each one hourly while it is online, wherever it is, and keeps 90 days of versions.
From install to first restore
- Day 1
List every device
We list each laptop and desktop, who uses it, and which folders hold real work.
- Days 2 to 5
Install the agent
A small agent installs remotely on each machine. Nobody has to bring a laptop into the office.
- Days 6 to 9
First full copy
Each device sends a full copy in the background, then only changed files each hour.
- Day 10
First proven restore
We restore one person’s folders to a spare machine and send you the timing in writing.
- Every hour
Copy and watch
A person follows up failed jobs the same business day and flags any laptop silent for 5 business days.
What you receive
- Who it is for
- Teams of 5 to 200 on Windows or Mac
- Format
- Remote setup, agent on each device
- Hourly copies of changed files on every laptop and desktop while online
- 90 days of versions of every file, adjustable on request
- An immutable copy in a second US region, locked for 30 days
- Single files restored within 1 business hour of your email, as a target
- A lost laptop’s files on a new machine within 1 business day, as a target
- A one-page monthly report: every device, its last copy, every failure
Is this the right plan?
Right for you if
- Staff work on laptops at home, on the road or at client sites
- Work is saved to desktops and Documents folders, not to a server
- Nobody can say when each laptop last finished a backup
- You replace laptops often and want each person’s files moved across in a day
Look elsewhere if
- All your files already live in OneDrive or Google Drive; a cloud app plan fits better
- You need each laptop rebuilt exactly as it was; we copy files, not whole disks, unless asked
- You have one or two computers and are happy to watch a consumer backup app yourself
Example: a laptop stolen on Thursday
A 16-person insurance agency runs on laptops, and its producers save quotes to their desktops. In week 1 we map every device and agree an hour of lost work is acceptable. On day 10 we restore one producer’s folders to a spare laptop. One Thursday in May, a laptop is stolen from a car at 3 p.m. Its 2 p.m. copy is on a replacement by noon Friday.
Workstation Backup questions, answered
Does laptop backup work away from the office?
Yes. The agent copies changed files every hour the laptop has an internet connection: at home, in a hotel or on a job site. Nothing routes through your office. A laptop that was offline catches up the next time it connects, and we flag any device that has been silent for 5 business days.
Which files does Workstation Backup copy?
By default it copies each person’s Documents, Desktop and other profile folders, plus any work folders we list together during setup, such as a local project or export folder. It skips the operating system and installed programs, which reinstall faster than they restore. A full disk image is available on request for a machine that needs one.
How fast can you restore a stolen laptop’s files?
Our target is 1 business day to put a lost or stolen laptop’s files on a new machine. Single files are faster, with a target of 1 business hour from your email to support@ezbre.com. The new laptop can come from you or your IT provider, and we restore to it remotely. These are targets, not guarantees.
How long are file versions kept?
Every version of every file is kept for 90 days by default. A file that was overwritten, deleted or encrypted last month can still be restored as it was before the change. Longer retention can be set on request, and the monthly report shows exactly what is kept for each device.
Does it work on both Windows and Mac?
Yes. The same agent and the same hourly schedule cover supported versions of Windows and macOS, and every device appears in one monthly report. Documents restore to either kind of machine, so files from a lost Windows laptop can go onto a replacement Mac if that is what you buy next.
