Your own copy of Microsoft 365
Mail, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams, copied 3 times a day.
- Term
- Month to month
- Price, indicative
- From $4 per user per month
Microsoft’s support documentation says that in SharePoint, “items are retained for 93 days from the time you delete them from their original location.” Microsoft 365 Backup keeps your own copy for a year or longer.
From admin consent to restore
- Day 1
Grant admin consent
Your Microsoft 365 admin approves our connection once. Nothing installs on any device.
- Days 2 to 5
First full copy
Every mailbox, OneDrive, SharePoint site and Teams chat is copied into an encrypted US store.
- Day 10
First proven restore
We restore one mailbox folder and one SharePoint library, and send you the timings.
- 3 times a day
Copy the changes
New and changed items are copied 3 times a day, and a person reads every failed job.
- When someone leaves
Keep their data
A departed user’s mail and files stay in the backup at no extra cost, so you can free the license.
What you receive
- Who it is for
- Businesses of 5 to 200 on Microsoft 365
- Format
- Remote, connected by admin consent
- Exchange mail, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams chats and files copied 3 times a day
- 1 year of retention, extendable to 7 years
- Restores of a single email, a folder, a whole mailbox or a site
- Departed staff accounts kept at no extra cost while the backup is kept
- Single items restored within 1 business hour of your email, as a target
- A one-page monthly report of users, copies and failed jobs
Is this the right plan?
Right for you if
- Your mail and files live in Microsoft 365 and nowhere else
- Staff leave, and their mail must outlast their license
- You may need an email or file a year or more after it was deleted
- Your IT provider manages Microsoft 365 but not its backup
Look elsewhere if
- Your mail runs on an on-site Exchange server; the Server Backup plan covers that
- You use Microsoft 365 only for desktop apps and keep files elsewhere
Example: a departed recruiter’s mail
A 70-person staffing agency turns over recruiters often and frees each license the week someone leaves. In week 1 we connect all 70 accounts and agree that departed users stay in the backup. On day 10 we restore one former user’s mailbox to prove it. Five months after a recruiter leaves, a client disputes an invoice. We restore that recruiter’s March mail into a shared mailbox the same afternoon.
Microsoft 365 Backup questions, answered
Does Microsoft back up Microsoft 365 data?
Microsoft keeps the service running and offers recycle bins, but keeping a separate copy is up to you. Its support documentation says deleted SharePoint items are kept for 93 days. Its Services Agreement, in section 6.b on consumer services, says, “We recommend that you regularly backup Your Content and Data that you store on the Services.”
Which parts of Microsoft 365 do you back up?
Exchange mail, OneDrive, SharePoint sites, and Teams chats and files, for every user you choose. Each is copied 3 times a day into an encrypted store in a US region, with a locked copy in a second region. Departed users’ accounts stay covered at no extra cost while the backup is kept.
What happens to a departed employee’s mailbox?
It stays in the backup at no extra cost for as long as you keep the backup, so you can remove the user and free the Microsoft license. If you need their mail or files later, we restore them into a shared mailbox or a colleague’s OneDrive, on request.
How long do you keep Microsoft 365 backups?
We keep 1 year of versions by default, extendable to 7 years. Every version inside that window can be restored, including items deleted long after the recycle bin emptied. Your compliance owner or counsel decides how long you must keep records; we set retention to match and show it in the monthly report.
How do we restore a deleted email or file?
Email support@ezbre.com saying whose item it is and roughly when it was deleted. Our target is 1 business hour for a single email, file or folder. We restore it to its original place or to a separate folder, so nothing current is overwritten, and confirm by email when it is back.
